AAA all star game just started and Shane is listed as a reserve pitcher. Watching the game on MiLB TV and hopefully get to see Shane pitch.

...Shane threw 23 pitches for 12 strikes, 0.2 IP, 0 Hits, 0 Runs, Induced 2 Ground Balls and gave up 2 walks. Pitching against the best hitters outside of the Big Leagues, that's not a bad outing as far as I'm concerned.

As for being in for "only .2 of an inning" have a clue about how an All Star Game is run

Congrats to Shane who had certainly put in the hard yards to be rewarded with AAA Allstar selection.

Nothing shabby in his performance, record will show 0 runs and 0 hits and a hold in a game where his team won 3-0.

Not to shabby if I do say.

Apparently Shane hit the clock at 99mph according to this report on the game by baseballamerica.com

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minors/news/2011/2612104.html

"IL relievers Shane Lindsay, a righty from Charlotte who touched 99 mph in the game, and Chuck James, a lefty from Rochester, walked the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, but the PCL ultimately squandered its best scoring opportunity when James struck out Reno second baseman Tony Abreu swinging for the third out."

Oh and you didn't want to mention the wild pitch that was thrown by him? He was taken out because he had walked a 2nd batter in the inning, not just because it was an allstar game. I am well aware of how they work thank Goblin, more then you will realise!
You guys wonder why he hasn't been called up to the bigs yet! Its because of his command issues... unlike the batter in AAA the guys in the big leagues are smarter then to swing at some of the bad pitches that lindsay gets away with in AAA

They bought in a lefty (James) to face the left hand hitter (Shuck). Lindsay has had an amazing year to date. He should be respected and admired for what he has done. Making the All Star roster in itself, is something that very few Australians have ever achieved.

Very hard for us to tell exactly what happened over at the AAA All-Star game aside from the fact Shane Lindsay essentially accomplished a feat none of us forum readers have achieved. I know I'm jealous of him in some respects (which of us wouldn't like to throw 99 and be an AAA All-Star?), and wish him nothing but the best for the future. Hopefully he is in the Majors in the very very near future.

Phil, I think what aussieump was getting to regards Shane's control, which from what I read, has been an issue in his history. From what we as fans saw with the Aces last year, he can be prone to walking batters, and I think had the highest WHIP of any ABL pitcher who threw at least five innings last year. The gamecast from yesterday does show two walks and a wild pitch and his control may have been aussieump's grumble.

I'm not going to argue with Shane or his coaches - they're in a better position to judge. Hopefully he makes that small adjustment and gets the call to the White Sox soon, and then comes back and helps the Aces towards a league championship.

I have no idea why you are using my name in your rant as I have never tried to tell you how it works.

All I have done is offer congrats to Shane on efforts this year that lead to his selection in the AAA All Star team. As the only Aussie in this year game I would have thought that was worthy of praise.

As a forum admin I am 100 % aware of who you are and your involvement so I am at a loss to see what you are implying with your insinuation.

Try a bit of positive reinforcement, it goes a long way

Sh!t, I didn't think I was starting anything controversial with this thread. I was just reporting what I was watching at the time. As said Shane held and pitchers were on a high rotation after Shane. All star mechanics I'd suggest. Good onya Shane!
